Welcome to Tree House International School
Studies show that over 25% of all children arrive for their first day of grade school lacking the skills they need to begin a lifetime of learning and personal growth. Yet the results of an extensive body of research on early childhood education are clear, preschoolers who learn to read early perform better throughout their school years.
Tree House International School offering Pre-School and Pre-kindergarten and our sister school St. George Academy for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 are unique in Nagoya. They are the first and only schools in Japan that offer cognitive skills development (the basis for all learning) along with an enriched academic curriculum and personal education plans for all students based on the highly acclaimed Core Knowledge Sequence.
Children aged three to five enjoy a balance of play, exploration and discovery in a structured environment that allows them to thrive while learning the skills that will bring them academic and personal success for the rest of their lives. We have an exceptionally low student to teacher ratio (usually less than 5 to 1) guaranteeing our students get individualized attention and care.
The Core Knowledge curriculum and our Montessori inspired approach is perfect for families that don’t want to compromise on their children's education while living and working abroad. It is also an exceptionally balanced and complete program for host country families who want an all English program without sacrificing other areas of development. Our program has been extremely successful for preparing students to meet the highest standards of education domestically and worldwide. Our students have transferred to schools in The United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, Finland, Singapore, and to exclusive private schools in Tokyo and other parts of Japan.
Based on the Core Knowledge Sequence supported by state of the art and carefully selected traditional learning aids we aim to provide the best possible education for our students (your children and ours!) After all, what we want as parents is what's best for our children, together we can meet their needs while giving them a safe, warm, loving environment to develop the experiences, skills, and competencies they need to meet their future challenges.
